Our estate planning process is designed to be as streamlined and satisfying to our clients as possible. The first step is to meet with Mr. Brennan and the estate planning manager, Paul Brennan, at our Sugar Land office to help us understand your situation and goals. We then create a customized plan and draft up all the necessary documents in the next week(s). During this process, you will be able to ask questions and make changes, as well as view draft versions of your documents.
Once we think the plan is ready, we hold a second meeting with you to review the plan and explain all the most important elements. If you are satisfied with the documents, you can immediately sign them and take them home with you. If there are any changes you'd like to be made, we schedule a final signing meeting to sign and execute your estate plan.
When you work with us, you are not paying for a document or a set of documents. You can find a fill-in-the-blank will easily enough on the internet. Rather, you are paying for the extensive expertise and legal resources that only an experienced Fort Bend estate planning attorney can offer. If you own even a few substantial assets like a car and a house, making sure they are distributed correctly is critical to the success of an estate plan. Without knowing state laws and the fundamentals of estate planning, you are liable to make a mistake trying to do it yourself. We have designed the process so that you will understand everything that is in your plan without having to do the hard work and research yourself.
